Our mission
Every photo carries hidden data: where it was taken, on what device, by whom, and increasingly, whether it was made by AI. We think you should be able to read all of it, understand it, and decide what stays.
What we stand for
Three principles, no exceptions.
Your files stay yours
Images are processed on the fly and deleted immediately. They're never stored, logged or shared. Your original file is never modified; every action makes a clean copy.
Honest about limits
We analyse metadata. An invisible pixel watermark like SynthID can't be detected or removed by cleaning, and we say so, clearly, wherever it matters.

How we work
We measure before we claim.
Pixvisor is an independent project, not a company with a marketing department. The metadata engine underneath is ExifTool, the reference implementation that photographers and forensic analysts have relied on for two decades. We did not write our own parser, because a worse parser would be the wrong place to be original.
When we state a number, we measured it. The claim that removing a location from an iPhone photo clears about 11% of its metadata comes from one photo we took and read field by field, before and after, and we published the counts and the method alongside the result. When we cannot verify something first-hand, we describe what a standard does rather than quote a specification version at you.
The same rule produces the parts that look like they work against us. Our AI detection reads the metadata layer, so it cannot see an invisible watermark written into the pixels, and we say so on the tool itself rather than in a footnote. An absence of AI signals is not evidence that a human made an image, and we will not let the interface imply otherwise. A tool that overstates what it knows is worse than no tool, because you would act on it.
